Back to electromechanical systems

On November, 8, I visited the greatest expert in electromechanical systems I've ever met: Anders Järvenpää.
He lives in Turku and since he was 12-years old he is passionate about electromechanical telephone exchanges and railway interlocking systems. Today, he has a really impressive collection of phone exchanges, rotary telephones, and technical documentation.
What is impressive is that Anders maintains everything working! You can take a rotary telephone from the 1930's and call your mom on the other side of the planet!  It was nice to talk with him through this old phones and listen him saying "Hello. Yes, it works."
Anders is the responsible by the exchange installation at the Suomen Rautatiemuseo, in Hyvinkää. The exchange there was originally operating in Rovaniemi, for the railway company.
I hope to see Anders' videos on Youtube in the near future. My students would love to see these equipments.
Some photos of these equipments you can find at the Turku newspaper.
